Welcome, Denise!

Denise LaBudda and I first met in 2013 while working on a staff survey for the Lancaster School District in southwestern Wisconsin. Fast-forward to April 2021. After completing her third and final term on the Lancaster School Board (and while scrolling through what she thought would be the last School Perceptions email she would read), Denise noticed we were hiring, and the rest is history. We are pleased to announce she has joined the School Perceptions team!

Prior to joining School Perceptions, Denise worked at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville leading the University’s compliance, ethics, and policy administration programs. Denise also worked as a developmental editor, managing textbook publishing projects for K-12 teacher education titles related to professional development, human relations, communication, classroom management, teaching methods, and adaptive physical education.

In 2017, Denise earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She especially enjoyed the assessment and quantitative data analysis courses she took. Her capstone explored organizational culture in higher education.

Denise and her husband graduated from UW-Eau Claire and served as high school teachers with the U.S. Peace Corps. In 1999, they moved from Minneapolis to Lancaster to raise their family in the peace and beauty of the Driftless Region. When her kids were young, Denise worked for a non-profit family resource center and as a substitute teacher in the District.

Denise enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time in nature hiking, bicycling, and snowshoeing.

As Project Manager, Denise will work with districts to design staff, student, parent, and community surveys specific to their needs. Please welcome Denise to our team! You can reach her at dlabudda@schoolperceptions.com.
